Eliot Spencer’s CV and Aliases

Special Abilities:

  • A Retrieval Specialist is someone who finds things which are hard to find and transports them any way possible (DVDs)

  • Unparallelled hand-to-hand fighting ability – able to drop 4 armed guards in the time it takes Hardison to drop a bag (1×01).
  • Extensive knowledge of guns and fighting style – able to identify mercernaries/terrorists by the sound of their weapons fired and a Force Recon Marine by the style of his knife thrust (1×02), as well as ex-CIA just by their stance (2×06). Very dangerous with guns, taking out  more than 10 armed bodyguards with just 2 guns and has a very quick draw (3×15).

  • Very handy with knives, whether it’s for cutting through 8 Yakuza in 4 seconds or an onion. Prides himself as a good cook (1×07). Also has dealt with cleaver-wielding triad members in the past (2×10, KFM) Apparently this knife and culinary love all stemmed from a very booby and hot home economics teacher back in high school (3×02)

Past Jobs:

  • Present DayHe’s in Berlin after The Nigerian Job (1×01) where he takes out 2 guys and another one with a gun in his face before picking up the phone call from Hardison. Whether it was a job or not is unknown.
  • Present Day – Between S1 and S2, he was in Pakistan doing ‘hinky’ stuff, whether or not he was on the CIA’s side is unknown (2×01). Apparently has some government connection, as implied by KFM.
  • 3 years ag0 – Retrieving a collector’s baseball card in Belgrade, Serbia – took out 8 gunmen, without a gun, whilst sipping a mug of coffee (1×01)
  • 5 years ago – For not delivering the Sapphire Monkey, Eliot was sent by his client Gutman to retrieve the dagger of Aqu’abi from the museum of Boston (3×11), the same item that the rest of the Leverage team was after before they got together. He outsmarted Sophie but was outsmarted in turn by Hardison.
  • 6 years ago (2003) – In Myanmar, which now has a $500,000 bounty on his head (1×13), and also where he was shot in the upper right arm by a sniper who might have been the mercenary Mikel Diane (2×07)
  • 8 years ago – When he dropped off the face of the planet and didn’t contact Aimee, he seemed to be held in some prison, being dragged along and questioned about what he did with a monkey (1×03), which is later revealed to be a Sapphire Monkey in North Korea (3×11). This time frame seems to be about when he liberated Croatia as well (1×07). Also, it appears he was in the employment of the US government during this period (3×06)
  • Unknown – A game of Russian Roulette, which apparently, is not as bad as being stuck watching Sophie perform in her play Death of a Salesman (1×04)
  • Unknown – Vietnam, in a town called Ben Au Zai (sounds like that) where he knew a Chinese Porter called Victor, whom Sophie coincidentally also knows. (1×01)
  • Unknown – He fought The Butcher of Kiev who was armed with a butcher’s knife in front of a burning structure. Eliot managed to break free and hit the right side of The Butcher’s face with a burning plank, scarring his cheek permanently. He encounters The Butcher again during The Wedding Job (1×07) and takes him out with a saucepan, a whisk and the lemon juice and serving tray from his Stuffed Mushrooms appetiser.
  • Unknown – Wanted in 5 different countries, the only one known being Myanmar (1×13)
  • Unknown – Worked as a mercenary for various governments, and has ‘taken lots of jobs standing in embassy basements’ (KFM)
  • Unknown – chased the same thief as Nate in his role as a retrieval specialist, which according to KFM, was how he first came under Nate’s radar.
  • Unknown – took out a Uruguayan Death Squad with a piano wire and… (3×14)
  • Unknown – Was Damien Moreau’s Head Henchman for an undisclosed period of time (3×15). There was a job in Belgrade that Moreau alludes to.
  • Unknown – Was once sent to kill the San Lorenzo Army General. Instead of killing him, he rescues him, and counts that as ‘half a rescue’ (3×16)
